Frederic Remington's "Bronco Buster" and "Cheyenne" Bronze Sculptures I need to sell these two pieces. They are beautiful and in great condition. I don't know much about them because I got them as a gift but they no longer match my decor and I do not have room to store them. Both are Frederic Remington replicas (I am assuming they are replicas). One is called "Bronco Buster" and the other is "Cheyenne." They are solid bronze mounted onto a marble base with a felt bottom. Both are very heavy. Shipping charges will be calculated by the total weight of both sculptures. However, because they are so heavy, I will be shipping each of them in separate boxes. If you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email. Here is a little about Frederic Remington's Bronco Buster and Cheyenne Sculptures:Broncho Buster is a sculpture made of bronze copyrighted in 1895 sculptor. It portrays a rugged Western frontier cowboy character fighting to stay aboard a rearing, plunging bronco, with a stirrup swinging free, a quirt in one hand and a fistful of mane and reins in the other. It was the first and remains the most popular of all Remington's sculptures. An original cast resides in the Oval Office, gift of Miss Virginia Hatfield and Mrs. Louis Hatfield Stickney during the Carter Administration. Theodore Roosevelt's Rough Riders gave him a cast of The Bronco Buster, which is now at the Sagamore National Historic Site, Oyster Bay, New York. “ Only those who have ridden a bronco the first time it was saddled, or have lived through a railroad accident, can form any conception of the solemnity of such experiences. Few Eastern people appreciate the sky-rocket bounds, grunts, and stiff-legged striking. †In 1901, Remington modeled The Cheyenne, an Indian racing on horseback. Wearing only a loincloth and moccasins, the gaunt, muscular, smooth-skinned rider leans forward, gripping his mustang with his legs and clutching a spear in his left hand and a quirt in his right. His mount is depicted full gallop, or "burning the air," as Remington described it: ears back, tail flowing in the wind, and all four hooves off the ground. The finely chased buffalo skin that serves as a saddle trails off the horse to its right and, with a clump of grass, functions as the sculpture's support. All of the horse's hooves are off the ground in the gallop, and thus The Cheyenne effectively captures the urgent sense of forward motion that Remington intended.
